Richard is painting views of Edinburgh and local views of the ancient Royal Burgh of Peebles for exhibition in 2017. For variety and for fun he is also painting favourite flowers, a series of Scottish castles and some horse, dog and cat portraits.

Richard accepts COMMISSIONS and particularly loves to paint animal portraits in acrylics on paper or canvas. Paints in a cosy detached studio beside the woods.

COMMISSIONS : He likes to paint a variety of subjects in a variety of mediums on paper, canvas or canvas board. and accepts commissions - usually ready within 21 -28 days subject to workload - OILS by arrangement.

PORTRAITS, DOGS, HORSES, PETS please send an Email with details of your commission request (head and shoulders OR full body). It is helpful if you can send several photos including a clear one of the head. Most popular size for PET PORTRAITS is 14ins x 10ins ( 36cm x 26cm) in a 20ins x 16in frame (50cm x 40cm) with card mount when appropriate. However, Richard also paints other sizes (smaller or larger) - also proving popular are paintings on primed boards (to fit standard sized frames) and on box canvasses ready to hang - the choice is yours.

An email copy of your finished painting will be sent to you for your approval. If you are not entirely satisfied with the finished painting simply return it for a full refund..

Edinburgh born painter Richard is largely self-taught - WATERCOLOURS in the seventies, PASTEL paintings of still life, landscapes and human and animal portraits throughout the eighties and nineties - OILS from 1995 and ACRYLICS from 2004 when he moved from Edinburgh to the ancient Royal Burgh of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. Paints in a cosy detached studio beside the woods and near the River Tweed.

Richard organizes the annual PEEBLES ART GROUP EXHIBITION which is held in The Gallery, Tweeddale Museum, Chambers Institution, High Street, Peebles, Scottish Borders. This is open to members, previous exhibitors and invited artists ( usually in May/June each year ).
