Description
DUART CASTLE painted in watercolor on lightly textured paper. Situated on the Isle of Mull (west coast of Scotland) in Argyll and Bute. Originally built in the 13th century, it was restored from ruins in 1911/12. Since the 14th century it has been the Seat of the ancient Clan MacLean when Lachlan Lubanach McLean 5th Chief became the 1st Laird of Duart on his marriage to Mary, daughter of John of Islay and Lord of the Isles .
